What are the Most Accurate Paintball Guns and Barrels on the Market!
Are you looking for the most accurate paintball barrel or most accurate paintball gun?
We give our top 5 reviews in each category. First let’s review some terms used by paintball barrel and paintball marker manufacturers, so we know what we are looking at.
- Magfed – Magazine Fed
- Milsim – Military Simulation marker, also known as a Tactical Marker
- PSP Mode – Stands for Paintball Sports Promotion, is a mode used in tournament play.
- NXL Mode/ Millennium mode – National XBall Leauge Mode, another style of tournament mode where the first three ‘safety’ shots are to be semi automatic only, after that the marker is limited to a ROF of 10 bps, legally the marker must be set at 10.5 or lower. If the marker falls below 5 PPS, the system resets and starts again with the three safety shots before ramp up.
- Bps – Balls per Second
- ROF – Rate of Fire
- PPS – Pulls per second
- Chrono – Chronograph, you generally set your gun at 280 to 290 feet per second, with 300 being the safest max feet per second. A Chronograph clocks the Velocity/speed of paintballs coming from your gun to insure they are within proper limits.
- Cylindricity – Is a term commony used in machining. It refers to a parts straightness and roundness, or circularity. A part that is perfectly straight, and perfectly round has good cylindricity.

3 Types of paintball markers
Mechanical Paintball gun Marker
This type of marker is the most common type of gun in recreational play, and these types are usually semi automatic, so they use one paint ball per trigger pull. Both mechanical and electro use compressed air.
Electro Paintball Marker
Electric guns use a battery and solenoid to signal the trigger and it is super easy to shoot an electro gun. Both mechanical and electro use more paintballs then the pump gun because there is no need to pump between shots, but the electro has the ability to use more paintballs than a mechanical because it is easier to pull the trigger.
Electros are challenging to maintain because they have batteries which wear out, and electronic components which are vulnerable to the elements.
Valve Types
Spool valves are smoother and quieter. They are stealthier. They make a “shooo” sound when fired. They also have less kick or recoil. Spools require more maintenance, such as oiling and replacing O rings. Spool valve markers usually have a single tube design.
Poppet valves are louder and make a “pop” sound when fired. Poppet valves are less fussy and low maintenance. They are also very efficient and need less babying than the spool valve. But they are loud and not at all sneaky.
Since poppet valves use a hammer/rammer to hit and open the poppet valve, which contributes the kick or recoil of a poppet gun. Poppet guns usually have a two tube design, with a few exceptions.
Pump Gun
Old School guns that are making a comeback. You pump the gun, like you would a shotgun to move the ball into the chamber. The advantage of this gun is it uses way less paint balls and forces you to ‘up’ your game.
You cannot shoot mindlessly while using a pump gun. Each shot must be, or should be, calculated. A pump gun game is fun and challenging, and not great for newcomers, honestly. Learn the game first before considering the additional challenge a pump gun introduces.
Playing with a pump gun also makes an experienced player less intimidating to new players because they can’t get blasted by a more experienced player if the experienced player is using a one ball at a time pump gun.
